MEET YOUR ATTORNEY

MATTHEW MILLER

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to help people. That simple fact led me first into the Navy and later into the practice of law. Now, I genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients and showing them that lawyers can in fact be both empathetic and good at what they do.

MY CORE VALUES SEPARATE ME FROM OTHER LAWYERS

There are a lot of negative stereotypes out there about lawyers. For instance, maybe you imagine us to be rigid, inflexible, or even heartless. While I can’t speak for other attorneys, I can tell you this: practicing law isn’t just a job to me. It’s a way of helping people get through some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

AS A FORMER PROSECUTOR,
I HAVE A UNIQUE ADVANTAGE

I’M NO STRANGER TO LITIGATION

Before I was a criminal defense attorney, I prosecuted the criminally accused. Between those two roles alone, I’ve logged a lot of hours in the courtroom. Add in my litigation experience on family law cases, and you can rest assured I know how to approach any legal challenge you throw at me.

I CAN HANDLE VARIOUS
TYPES OF CRIMINAL CASES

Throughout my career, I’ve successfully defended clients accused of drug possession, possession with intent to deliver, various theft crimes, gun crimes, sex crimes, juvenile crimes, and so many others. Whatever your criminal case entails, I stand ready to defend your rights and freedom.

I KNOW WHAT THE
OTHER GUYS ARE THINKING

When trying to win any given argument, the best way to succeed is knowing how the other side thinks. Since I used to do exactly what the prosecutor in your case is trying to do, we can accurately anticipate each move and stay one step ahead of them.

DON’T GET RAILROADED BY THE SYSTEM.

GET THE HELP YOU NEED.

ALLOW ME TO GET YOU ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE LAW

At this moment in time, you may not necessarily be on the “wrong” side of the law, but I’m sure you would feel a lot more comfortable if your legal issue was done and over with. That’s where I come in.

Divorce & Child Custody Disputes

I’ve been there. I know firsthand what it’s like to go through the pangs of divorce and the gut-wrenching struggle of arriving at a fair child custody arrangement. In my case, there were four kids to be considered, so believe me when I say that I understand both the emotional and legal strain you’re under right now.

As your attorney, I can take a step back and see the legal possibilities so that — no matter how high the emotions are running — we can take productive, healthy steps toward a resolution. My priority is doing what’s right for you and, if applicable, any children you may have.

Criminal Charges & Accusations

Drug and theft charges run rampant throughout Peoria County. I myself have defended countless clients accused of drug possession, petty theft, and the like from incidents at the Summer Camp Music Festival alone. Likewise, I’ve defended clients charged with DUIs, gun crimes, sex crimes, juvenile crimes, and probation violation.

As my experience has taught me, there’s always more to the story than the prosecution would have you believe. Maybe you made a mistake; maybe you were falsely accused. In either scenario, you’ll get nothing but respect and unbiased support from me. My mission is to protect your rights and help you get back on track. But first things first — let’s start by setting up a free consultation. To do so, give me a call or fill out the contact form below.
